My university is the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, which is one of the leading institutions in Sri Lanka dedicated to arts and aesthetics. This university is located in Colombo 07. The students who come here are highly talented and creative. They are well-known for their artistic skills and make a great contribution to the field of arts in Sri Lanka. The campus is beautifully situated facing the Nelum Pokuna (Nelum Pokuna Theatre), which adds to its unique and attractive environment. Although the campus is small in size, it is very beautiful and inspiring for us. At this university, we get many opportunities to develop our skills and improve our artistic talents in a supportive and creative environment. For the last, I have a deep love and pride for my campus.  I love my campus very much.

Nedungamuwa Raja was one of the most famous and respected tuskers in Sri Lanka. He belonged to the tusker category and had long and strong tusks. He was born in India in the 1950s and later brought to Sri Lanka. Nadungamuwa Raja was especially well known for carrying the sacred casket of the Sri Dalada Maligawa Sacred Tooth Relic during the Kandy Esala Perahera. Because of his calm nature, strength, and dignity, he earned great respect and admiration from the people. His caretaker was Kalu Mama , who took care of his food, health, and daily needs. There was a very strong and loving bond of trust between Kalu Mama and Nadungamuwa Raja. The guidance and care of Kalu Mama were very important, especially during special occasions when the elephant had to remain calm and behave with dignity. My favourite cartoon character is Garfield. Garfield is a funny, lazy, and lovable orange cat who loves food very much. He is very popular because of his humorous and relaxed personality. Garfield’s favourite food is lasagna. He spends most of his time eating, sleeping, and making funny jokes. He lives with his owner Jon and a dog named Odie. The funny situations between Garfield, Jon, and Odie make the cartoon very interesting and enjoyable. I like Garfield because it is very funny and entertaining. Whenever I watch it, I feel happy and relaxed. Garfield’s lazy behavior and love for food make the cartoon even more enjoyable. For the last, Garfield is my favourite cartoon because it always brings me joy and laughter.

Christmas is a special religious festival celebrated with great joy and respect by Christians all over the world. It is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas Day falls on the 25th of December every year, and it spreads values such as love, kindness, and peace. Even though I am a Buddhist, I also like Christmas very much because of its joyful and beautiful atmosphere. During the Christmas season, people decorate their homes in beautiful ways. Christmas trees, colorful lights, and stars are commonly used for decorations. Kandyan dance is one of the most famous traditional dance forms in Sri Lanka. In this dance, the costume worn by the dancers is very special, and one important part of it is the silambu. Silambu are small metallic anklets worn around the dancer’s feet. They are usually made of metal such as brass and produce a rhythmic sound when the dancer moves. The sound of the silambu adds rhythm and beauty to the dance. It helps to highlight the dancer’s foot movements and makes the performance more attractive and lively. In Kandyan dance, the sound of the silambu is very important. Silambu also help dancers to maintain proper timing and coordination in their movements. They guide the dancer’s steps and improve the overall performance. For the last,although silambu are a simple part of the costume, they play a very important role by adding rhythm, sound, and beauty to the Kandyan dance.

My favourite book is Beddagama. It is a famous novel written by Leonard Woolf. This book shows the village life of Sri Lanka in a very realistic way. The story describes the lives of poor villagers and the difficulties they face in their daily lives. It clearly shows poverty, social injustice, and the struggles of families living in the village. The lives of children and their hardships are also an important part of the story. I like this book very much because it is very real and meaningful. When I read it, I can understand the true life of village people. It also helps me to feel sympathy and kindness towards others. This book teaches many important life lessons. It shows the value of kindness, patience, and understanding the problems of others. For the last, Beddagama is a very special book in my life. My favourite dress style is casual wear. I prefer casual clothes because they are comfortable, simple, and suitable for everyday life. I feel relaxed and confident when I wear casual outfits. My favourite casual outfits include T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers. These clothes are easy to wear and match well with different styles. I like to choose light and soft colours because they give a fresh and calm feeling. Sometimes, I also wear hoodies or simple shirts depending on the weather. Casual dress style is not only about comfort but also about expressing my personality. It allows me to look neat and stylish without much effort. The only path that brings peace to my mind is the path of Lord Buddha. His teachings guide me towards calmness, peace, and a true understanding of life. Lord Buddha was born to show the world a way to end suffering. He taught the Four Noble Truths, explaining suffering, its cause, its end, and the path leading to its end. Through these teachings, he showed people how to live a meaningful and righteous life. In his teachings, kindness, compassion, and non-violence are very important. He taught us to love all living beings equally, to avoid harming others, and to live with a pure and good heart. By following the Noble Eightfold Path taught by Lord Buddha, we can achieve a peaceful mind and move towards enlightenment. My pet is a lovely dog named Ruby. He is very special to me and always makes my day happy. Ruby is medium in size and has soft, shiny fur. My favourite teacher is Mr. Pubudu Sandaruwan. He is a Sinhala teacher who has played a very special role in my life. I met him during my Ordinary Level studies, and from that moment, he became not only a teacher but also a great guide to me. He is a very kind, caring, and dedicated teacher. He always teaches with patience and makes sure that every student understands the lesson clearly. His teaching style is simple yet effective, which helped me to improve my Sinhala knowledge greatly. Because of his guidance and support, I was able to achieve an “A” pass for Sinhala in my Ordinary Level examination. I truly believe that without him, I would not have reached that success.  The Kurus Palliya located in Marawila is not only a religious place but also a peaceful and spiritually calming environment. It is a sacred place filled with silence, humility, and inner peace, which deeply touches my heart. Even though I am a Buddhist, I have a special love and respect for Jesus Christ. Therefore, when I visit the Kurus Palliya, I do not think about religious differences. Instead, I pray from my heart.
